What is a Preceptor?
A preceptor is an experienced practitioner who provides supervision during clinical practice and facilitates the application of theory to practice for students and staff learners. Each of our providers at the National Sports Medicine Institute is a clinical preceptor for several institutions, locally and nationally. Our providers work with students of all levels and background for a period to assist the student in acquiring new competencies required for safe, ethical, and quality practice. Our providers assist the student by setting expectations, providing effective feedback about their performance, and providing appropriate opportunities to meet their learning objectives.
We are clinical preceptors and site sponsors for:
Nth Dimension: Orthopaedic program exposing underrepresented population Orthopaedics and sports medicine
Shenandoah University Masters Athletic Training and Doctor of Physical Therapy Programs
George Mason University Undergraduate and Masters level Athletic Training Programs
George Washington University Masters and Doctorate level Nursing Programs
